Nightmare Moon papercraft 1of4 by muffinshire Nightmare Moon papercraft 1of4 by muffinshire
This is a papercraft kit for the character Nightmare Moon from My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. Download and print the full 300dpi versions for best results. Printed on A4/letter size paper the model stands approximately 20cm (8") tall. 140gsm paper recommended.

Model designed and textured in Autodesk Maya 2011 Student, unwrapping and layout performed in Pepakura Designer 3, final tweaks and composition completed in Adobe Photoshop CS.

MLP:FiM and characters are property of Hasbro and Lauren Faust. Made only for fun and non-profit use, out of appreciation for the excellent animated show.

I'm afraid there's a whole lot of tweaking that goes on in Photoshop between Pepakura Designer's output files and the patterns you see uploaded here. I'm not sure if it's a problem with Pepakura Designer itself or the UV maps on the objects exported from Maya, but some of the textures get distorted and have to be manually corrected. Also Pepakura Designer's texture resolution limit hobbles large parts like the mane and tail, so those components were designed in a 2D vector program and added later.

The long and short of it is that the .PDO project files bear very little resemblance to what you see in the final patterns, and backporting all the tweaks would take hours and still not be the same as the processed versions. Sorry!
