Description
My entry for day 15 of Equestria Daily's Artist Training Grounds. The brief was "draw a pony being inquisitive".
This comic started as the idea of having filly Twilight surreptitiously investigating Celestia's quarters at the school of magic, and the notion of telling a short story (without making use of word balloons) grew out of that. This was quite an ambitious task to take on, but one I did for a reason - I have a bad habit of dallying too long on my lineart, and this means pieces often take far longer than they should. I used my day 14 piece as a conscious attempt to work on this problem, breaking down the image into distinct areas (each of the six main figures, the background and the sky), and setting time limits for each. Doing a comic was a way to continue this, as it is naturally broken down into segments, though this time I didn't use time limits - just having the panels helped me gauge the progress.
I would like to have coloured this, but time ran out on me and I had to resort to my backup plan, some basic half-toning to set the mood. I really need to be careful I'm not biting off more than I can chew with these daily challenges! If I find the time later, I will revisit the piece and colour it.

I was looking for a comment I thought I remembered on this picture... turns out I MIGHT have been remembering something that mathprofbrony said on the derpibooru instance of this https://derpibooru.org/76161 ... but probably I'm remembering something on a work similar to this one's ending... anyway he said:
"Whatever it is, Princess, I’ll fix it!"
"I believe you can, Twilight Sparkle."
